How to find the key for ANY Gospel SingerListening for Cadences: To quickly find the key of a song, focus on identifying cadences, which are musical phrases that typically start or end sections of the song, such as choruses, verses, or bridges. Cadences often occur at key points where the music resolves or pauses, making them crucial for identifying the song’s key.Recognizing the "One": Cadences usually resolve on the "one" or tonic of the scale, which is the root note of the key. By listening to these resolution points, you can often determine the overall key of the song.Practical Exercises: Improve your ability to identify keys by practicing with various songs. Use platforms like YouTube to practice hearing and identifying cadences in different types of music. This repeated practice helps in sharpening your ear for key detection.Building Chords: Once a cadence is identified and the root note determined, build chords around that note to confirm the key. For example, if the cadence ends on a G note, you might try chords like C major or G major to see which fits best.Skill Development: As your skill in hearing and identifying cadences improves, you'll find it easier to determine keys without waiting for a cadence. This advanced ability allows you to pick out the key center more quickly and accurately, aiding in faster song learning and adaptation.🎹 Need help with chord theory? STUDENT TESTIMONIAL: I'm Frank Jansen, and I am excited to share my experience with Piano Lessons with Warren. I've been a professional piano player since I was just 15 years old. Like many of Warren's students, I searched the internet for ways to enhance my gospel piano skills when I stumbled upon his videos. The more I delved into his content, the more I realized there was something truly unique and special about Warren's teaching. This realization prompted me to sign up for his course, which was an outstanding learning experience. One of the most impressive aspects of his program is the ear training app. Warren clearly understands the importance of playing by ear as a gospel pianist. His app covers essential topics, including intervals, bass lines, chord progressions, chord inversions, and chord quality. It's hands down the most comprehensive and effective ear training program I've ever encountered.Additionally, Warren engages with his students through weekly meetings, where we discuss our practice routines, challenges, and progress. He offers masterclasses where selected students can participate, and he even provides feedback on submitted videos. The best part is that this interaction is incredibly positive and encouraging. The sense of community and support among the students is truly phenomenal.Another standout feature is the "practice path" included in his coursework. It's a step-by-step guide to improving your skills, focusing on arpeggios, progressions, and learning songs. Warren regularly demonstrates gospel songs, offering versions for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players. He provides MIDI files, cheat sheets with lyrics and chords, and even fully notated examples of his playing. This extensive support makes learning songs a breeze.Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, if you want to enhance your gospel piano skills, this is the course. Look up Piano Lessons with Warren, and I highly recommend trying it. You won't be disappointed!Start your transformation today with our FREE trial here: https://lnkd.in/dkE7vPma.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL: Hey there, I'm Pat, and I'm thrilled to talk about my experience with Piano Lessons with Warren. I joined this journey right around the beginning of the pandemic when I was looking for ways to enhance my musical skills and fill in the gaps in my knowledge. Piano Lessons with Warren was a treasure trove of insights and guidance.Warren has this remarkable ability to listen to our struggles and then provide precisely what we need. It's not just my experience; I've witnessed this for countless other members. Questions and challenges are met with solutions and new content to help us progress.I first discovered Warren's teaching on YouTube, like many of you probably did. I was wearing my headphones at work, listening to his videos, and genuinely impressed by his approach. It was evident that he had a genuine desire to help us excel in our musical gifts.Warren introduced live sessions, where we could all come together, ask questions, and discuss anything we wanted to learn. It was incredible to see him right at his keyboard, demonstrating solutions to our struggles. The beauty of these sessions is that the learning isn't confined to the person who asked the question; we all benefit from the insights shared.Through my ten-plus years of playing for a church, there were areas I didn't fully understand, and now, I'm learning how to enhance my left-hand technique and grasp chord inversions. If you don't see these elements, they can be a real challenge. Warren has created sessions catering to various levels, from beginners to advanced players. I often consider myself somewhere between intermediate and advanced in certain areas, but the material provided has helped me fine-tune my skills.Warren's program keeps us on track, answering questions like what to practice, how frequently, and when to progress to new areas. It's comprehensive, and everything you need is right here. I used to scour YouTube for answers, looking up tutorials for the 2-5-1 or 3-5-6 chords and when to use them. Well, Warren has all of that covered in his program.Warren's teaching has broadened my horizons, and his program is suitable for youth, beginners, and even those beyond my age group. I'm not even 55, so trust me, it's for everyone. What's fantastic about this community is that Warren makes us feel like family. You sense a true sense of belonging, and it's a supportive, tight-knit community. So, a big thank you to Warren. His dedication to music, professionalism, and desire to help others genuinely shine through in his teachings. If you haven't signed up yet, I strongly urge you to do so. You'll find everything you need right here, and you won't have to search the internet for answers. I'm grateful I joined, and I'm confident you will be too.
