Half of the temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have now reopened for proxy ordinance work. This article explains how to schedule appointments to do proxy work.

How to Schedule Temple Appointments for Proxy Work

  1. In the main navigation on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, select Serve and then Temples. (Or you can go directly to temples.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.)
  2. Click the Appointments icon. (If you haven’t already signed in with your Church account and password, it will then prompt you to do so.)
  3. You will then be able to choose which proxy ordinance you would like to do (baptism, initiatory, endowment, or sealing) and be guided through the process of selecting a date and time.

Watch the video below for more information. This video is also available in additional languages.

Note that on the first day of each month, temples post appointments for future months. Not all temples are scheduling proxy appointments online. Please contact the temple directly to schedule living ordinances.

Since May 2020, temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been reopening in a cautious, careful way, based on local circ*mstances and governmental restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

You can state that you have guests coming with you and how many are male or female. But each of those guests need to make their own appointment. The guest section is just so the temple can plan for how many is in your group.

Is there a way to schedule an appoint for someone who does not have internet access or a mobile phone? Do I have to have someone reserve a spot and substitute them in their place? I don’t know how to make an appointment for someone else without having to have the person go online for themselves. We have several elderly persons in our ward that are not able to make appointments for themselves.

      Sally,

When we hit this issue, we help that individual sign up for a church account if they do not already have one. If they are attending the temple, and have a recommend, this process is simple as they only need their DOB and record # which is on the recommend.
Then, on any smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access, we logon to churchofjesuschrist.org with that person’s account and help them schedule an appointment.

I am unable to schedule more than one appointment. I can make an endowment appointment for Friday then when I try to make one for Saturday, I get a message saying I have reached my limit and have to complete the appointment on Friday before I can schedule another one. Doesn’t make any sense. Am I limited to only doing one ordinance before I can schedule another?

If I schedule an appointment a week or two in advance, then have an opportunity to go in a couple of days, it won’t let me schedule it until I have completed the later appointment.

Sorry but I’m a recently baptized male [Jan 2021] I’ve visited my Temple last week in Longueil QC as a witness to baptisms for the dead.
I’ve now some people who have passed but I would like to also baptize them at my temple, I’ve some male and female people who need to be baptized. I also have a female friend a member of the congregation I attend who would be able to do the female people I have as well. I’ve printed out the forms and cut them according to the website in order to have this process done, My friend goes to the temple often but on;y goes at the 7:30PM visit. I would like to do the same but it’s difficult to make the appopintment as I cannot choose the time of 7:30 PM to do this. Any hints?

When I try to go back to look for another date the system ask me to resubmit all the information #s etc. Extremely frustrating process. What am I doing wrong. Yes. You would input how many in total will be there for sealings. You only need to book it once then. For instance, if I were to attend a sealing session with my parents and sister, I would input 3 females and 1 male.

For some odd reason, my temple only allows one initiatory per person per session. It makes no sense. If my sister, mother, and I would like to go at 12:30pm, we can’t all attend together. We have to book each half hour block. I don’t understand why. I’m doing it at the Cardston Alberta temple. Last time we contacted the temple, they said that’s the way it is and we can only book online and they couldn’t help us. I’m beyond frustrated.

It’s always so frustrating with this apt stuff. They say you don’t need an apt but you can if you want. But when you don’t have an apt you get to the temple and you can’t ever get in because they never have any room for you so it actually forces you to make apt. Me and my family have been turned away severeal times. Almost giving up. It was so much nicer to just get up and go at anytime. When ya feel prompted to go on the spot, or need to go on the spot for many reasons. I find this apt stuff all very frustrating. My husband and son sat in initories for 2 hours waiting cuz they kept taking apt people and still they never got in. I was turned away last time I walked in cuz all appointments were filled except baptisms later and sealings later but I couldn’t come back later. Left in tears. Somethings got to change here. I use to go to rhe temple once a month but it’s so difficult now. I’m not healthy at times and never know when I’m gonna feel good so I like to wake up and go when I do feel good but can’t cuz I don’t have apt. When i do have apt then i have to always cancel cuz i may not feel good that day. I am not the only one finding this so frustrating!
